The Medical Records Coordinator functions as a member of the operations team and performs comprehensive audits and documentation compliance. Responsibilities include auditing patient paperwork for past and current patients, and sending medical records upon request.
Responsibilities:
- Review medical records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance
- Audit past and current patient paperwork
- Coordinate with patients/office staff to complete documentation.
- Facilitate the distribution of medical records as needed to patients, disability claims, and insurance carriers
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and protection of patient medical records and information
- Additional job duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Highly skilled in technology systems
- Experience in a healthcare admin field, specifically medical records, with a minimum of 2 years
