QUALITY CONTROL SPECIALIST

CLASSIFICATION: Quality Control Specialist

GRADE: Exempt, Regular Full-time

REPORTS TO: Department Director

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plans and conducts inspections on accomplished maintenance, vehicle use and care, electrical wiring, preventive maintenance timeliness, and Precision Measurement and Equipment Laboratory calibration requirements at over 64 diverse testing sites spread over a 724-square-mile range. Trains and supervises QA augmenters when recruited for QA audits and inspections. Organizes and analyzes inspection data and conducts research to identify trends or root causes of problems. Researches technical questions in applicable commercial, USAF and company technical data; evaluates site’s references for, and recommends solutions to, technical problems. Must be alert to potential safety and environmental issues and identify those issues to appropriate experts. Assists with identifying requirements, periodic audits, performance assessments, and data collection. Assists with assembling and organizing QA inspection data. Works hand-in-hand with other compliance entities (e.g., safety and environmental) and government agencies to ensure employees and facilities within the contract are meeting applicable standards.

GENERAL DUTIES:
Employee will be required to perform the following duties: conduct inspections on accomplished maintenance, vehicle use and care, electrical wiring, preventive maintenance timeliness, and Precision Measurement and Equipment Laboratory calibration requirements at sites. Organize and analyze inspection data to identify trends or root causes of problems. Research technical questions in applicable commercial, USAF, and company technical data. Must be alert to potential safety and environmental issues and identify those issues to appropriate experts. Works hand-in-hand with other compliance entities (e.g., safety and environmental) and government agencies to ensure employees and facilities within the contract are meeting applicable standards.

OTHER DUTIES: Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum two years of college (associates degree) required; bachelor's degree preferred. Must have knowledge of applicable Air Force Instructions, Technical Orders, industry standards, OSHA requirements and the ability to reference these directives. Experience in performing inspections/evaluations to ensure processes and/or standards are being met is required. Formal training and experience in a Quality Assurance position and leadership and management is highly desirable.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Secret security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Performs related duties as assigned in both a field and office environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; and requires standing, sitting, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
