Job Summary
This job is in the Outside Sales job family (Department), which includes positions the duties of which are to perform or supervise work involved in promoting and maintaining sales by originating and developing leads and performing sales on-site, face to face and in person.

Job Function

  • In this role, the Territory Manager will be primarily responsible for developing, growing, and servicing new business, at both new and existing accounts. The current mix of business at this Division is made up of a blend of about 70% Contractual/Repeat business, and 30% Spot/Transaction.
  • This position is a full-time “on the road” position with an average of 10% overnight stays, depending on residency location.
  • Products sold primarily include Carbon and Stainless Steel, in addition to some Non-Ferrous. Products sold are made up of processed raw materials, as well as 1st stage, and 2nd stage finished blanks/parts/components. Processing capabilities include Leveling/Cut-to-Length, Laser Processing, Plasma Cutting, Press Brake Forming, and Sawing.
  • There’s a strong emphasis on heavy growth on volume, value-added processing, all while maximizing profitability.
  • The Territory Manager will be supported in their growth efforts via outstanding Customer Service, Operational, and Technical Support groups, who are responsible for carrying out and executing orders.

Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must possess a Valid Drivers License and be able to meet company insurability standards.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in outside sales, and managing a territory required.
  • Sales experience within the metals industry highly preferred.
  • Self-motivated and driven.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers and customers required.
  • Experience in negotiation skills.
  • Possess excellent leadership qualities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
  • Fast learner with the ability to retain information.
  • Exemplary work ethic and professional conduct.
  • Proficient math skills.
  • Proficient in CRM software.
