ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Fire Alarm Test & Inspection Technician to join our team!
As a Fire Alarm Test & Inspection Technician, you’re responsible for performing the inspection and testing, of fire alarm systems for compliance with applicable life-safety and fire-safety requirements as mandated by standards and codes, manufacturers’ requirements, federal, state, and local ordinances, customer requirements, and the expectations and requirements of the company.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
· Perform inspection and testing of all types of fire alarm systems
· Perform inspection and testing of backflow prevention devices as required by USC 10 and state and local codes, separate certification requirements may be necessary based upon the jurisdiction
· Assist/coordinate with all forms of life safety system testing
· Document all testing findings in accordance with NFPA and local requirements
· Maintain a good positive relationship with the customer and pass on information to the appropriate personnel for follow-up, quotes, questions, or concerns
· Discuss deficiencies noted with a customer, explaining the problem and its resolution
· Document all testing findings in accordance with NFPA and local requirements
· Perform fire extinguisher duties 10-20% of the time
QUALIFICATIONS
· 2 plus years experience in fire alarm systems
· High School diploma or equivalent
· NICET II (Fire Alarm Systems or Fire Alarm Test and Inspect)
· FA-1 Fire Alarm Systems (Seattle Certification) preferred
· FEX-1 Fire Extinguishers (Seattle Certification) preferred
· E4 Wet/dry chemical fire extinguishing system preferred
· Knowledge and ability to understand and operate basic computer functions such as Windows, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Apple IOS, and Android
· Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
· Must be able to travel overnight over multiple days occasionally
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles
· Occasional exposure to working in high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
· The noise level is generally moderate.
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted
· Frequently lift and carry toolboxes, tools, equipment, parts, cabling, and/or wiring
· Must be able to push or pull up to 50 pounds
· Frequent ladder climbing, often while carrying up to 50 pounds
