Position SummaryDrives a truck equipped with various configurations of a dump body to transport and dump materials and other various construction related products. Must have the ability & training to drive other vehicles and/or configurations as needed. Abides by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Reliable attendance is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Performs a daily pre and post-trip safety check on equipment and the truck to assure a safe vehicle.
Documents any maintenance that may be required, maintains mileage reports and accurate logbooks to meet DOT criteria.
Assists with the proper and legal loading of materials for transport as designated by the dispatcher.
Transports and maintains condition of products as part of the company inventory that can be safely hauled on assigned vehicle.
Distinguishes between safe and unsafe conditions at the job site, in traffic and throughout the plant areas.
Weighs in and out at scales for load ticketing and legal weight compliance. Receives designated directions from
Dispatch. Verifies product delivery loads match the load tickets.
Tarps and secures loads to comply with state, federal, and local laws and company safety policy.
Follows unloading guidelines at the destination site and instructions by dispatch personnel.
Connects/disconnects various trailers for a variety of truck configurations.
Performs minor maintenance to the assigned vehicle including tire pressure and check all fluid levels (water, fuel, and oil).
Assists other areas--repair/maintenance in the plant area, yard clean-up, snow removal, pallet repair, help in block plant or drive other equipment for affiliated companies when requested.
May transport product to an affiliated company &/or pick up product from an affiliated company.
May assist company and affiliated companies as needed by driving other trucks and performing related tasks, such as a Boom Truck with or without pup to transport concrete block, brick, and bagged concrete products and/or Transit Mixer Truck to deliver and discharge concrete to and from various job sites.
Maintains a clean driving record and operate the company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner. Follows all Company policies regarding safety—traffic laws, cell phone usage, texting, non-smoking, etc.
Other duties as assigned.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid NE Commercial Driver’s License Class A
