As a key leadership role within the IT senior leadership team, the Director of Infrastructure and Operations is responsible for directing teams that manage cloud services, unified communications, network services, data center operations, servers and storage platforms, service monitoring, Service Desk, cybersecurity, and clinical engineering. Overview of Responsibilities
- Work closely with clinical staff and stakeholders to identify and address technology needs that improve patient care, data accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and lead a high performing infrastructure engineering and operations team to ensure the reliable delivery of IT services and operations.
- Oversee a high-performing computing infrastructure, including planning and management of technology operations and production support, systems and database administration, release management, business continuity, network operations, telecom, cloud services, Service Desk, and field support.
- Collaborate with the CIO to develop strategic and tactical solution plans for IT, focusing on [Company]’s future technology infrastructure.
- Conduct strategic and tactical planning with IT peers to develop a technical roadmap, ensuring the delivery of supportable technology solutions that meet business needs.
- Partner with the CIO and IT Leadership Team to modernize the organizational structure and business processes, supporting growth in a digital environment.
- Manage the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies such as cloud, software-defined networking, high-performance computing, continuous delivery, and advanced collaboration technologies.
- Develop and maintain cost-effective design, development, integration, implementation, testing, and maintenance of new services, equipment, and systems to meet business objectives.
- Lead a high-performing infrastructure engineering and operations team to ensure reliable IT service delivery and operations.
- Drive a collaborative culture that emphasizes technical depth, accountability, and customer service.
- Establish and maintain operations procedures that leverage efficiencies and best practices.
- Oversee service management activities, including change and release management, testing, quality assurance, and end-to-end technical integration.
- Oversee the strategic direction of infrastructure investments in collaboration with team members, the CIO, senior management, and partners.
- Oversee cybersecurity protections across all IT infrastructure resources.
- Lead major technology and infrastructure projects and service management improvements, ensuring goals for quality, productivity, and ROI are met.
- Implement and maintain controls and monitoring procedures to ensure the availability of critical systems and minimize service interruptions.
- Collaborate closely with clinical staff and stakeholders to identify and address technology needs that improve patient care, data accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Provide leadership and oversight to the Clinical Engineering team, ensuring the maintenance and management of medical devices and equipment.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices in clinical engineering and IT infrastructure.
- Foster a culture of innovation by promoting and implementing digital transformation initiatives.
- Work with cross-functional teams to evaluate, pilot, and implement digital solutions that drive business value and competitive advantage.
- Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard information assets and systems.
- Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and awareness programs to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Oversee the management and optimization of telecommunications systems and negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers to ensure cost-effectiveness and reliability.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging communication technologies to enhance connectivity, collaboration, and information exchange within the organization.
Education/Experience
Education Required/Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant experience required. Master’s degree in business administration or healthcare administration preferred. Experience Required/Preferred:
At least seven (7) years of experience managing an IT department, preferrable in a healthcare setting required. Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing cross functional teams Substantial experience leading, directing and controlling a complex, highly technical operation or organization.Knowledge of business concepts, and an understanding of the links between major business processes, products, systems, and networks.Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging technologies and the ability to apply those technologies to business needs.A track record of working collaboratively and productively with business partners.Licensure and Certification
Qualifications
Able to manage and motivate people.Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications.Solid financial acumen with considerable knowledge of business processes, management, budgeting, and revenue cycle operations. Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), network, etc. Ability to communicate, understand and interact with physicians, clinicians, external regulatory agencies, and other Reid personnel in person and through telephone and e-mail.Experience in controlling information technology budget.Experienced in creating and implementing IT policies and systems that meet objectives. Excellent working relationship with physician, peers, administration, end users, and vendors. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diligence.Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.Work Environment
