Responsibilities

  • Perform configuration and change management activities, including version control, system builds, and release management.
  • Provide deployment support by deploying applications and microservices in on premise and cloud environments.
  • Work with development teams to troubleshoot application build issues by validating configuration, etc.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, security, and several other engineering disciplines around DevSecOps.
  • Create and maintain Jenkins build pipelines and Ansible playbooks.
  • Write and run ad-hoc scripts (using Bash, Python, etc) to automate DevOps processes.
  • Manage the day-to-day execution of software projects using Agile development methodology and scrum model.
  • Develop and maintain installation, configuration, and operations procedures.
  • Other similar professional duties maybe assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience as configuration management and/or DevOps engineer.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, especially with Jenkins using Groovy
  • Experience in managing application servers such as Weblogic and Tomcat in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Technical knowledge of AWS managed services (VPC, EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, IAM), including monitoring and analytics tools such as AWS CloudWatch, AppDynamics.
  • Solid understanding of microservice concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems and environments.
  • Expert scripting skills (Python, Perl, Bash).
  • Experience with code management systems (Git, Subversion)
  • Good understanding of networks, firewalls, troubleshooting, and basic network administration
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on Ansible with experience in developing playbooks.
  • Experience working on IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation.
  • Experience working on container-based technologies, especially Kubernetes, Docker, AWS EKS.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate) are a plus.
  • Prior experience with Federal Government project is a plus.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. Additional experience may be substituted for education.

Security Clearnce: Eligible to obtain a public trust clearance.

Location/Remote: Hybrid and candidate must be local to DC Metro.
