JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs a variety of housekeeping and administrative tasks and assists in the supervision of housekeeping employees. Provides guidance to staff to ensure that high levels of cleanliness, quality and service is achieved and maintained. Assists with JCAHO compliance and will be directly involved in ensuring HCAHPS (Patient Satisfaction) goals/standards are met.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma, GED, and/or Associates Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE;

Twelve (12) months housekeeping/customer service experience or equivalent education/experience; preferably in hospital or extended care facility.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Thorough knowledge in all phases of housekeeping/environmental services required.
• Demonstrated effective organizational and analytical skills in conflict management, change management and issue resolution. Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to multitask and establish priorities
• Must possess excellent customer service skills
• Ability to exhibit initiative, accountability, flexibility and good leadership skills
• Must understand and conceptualize working knowledge of EVS to meet established goals and objectives
• Must be proficient in the use of Windows-based office software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Prolonged walking, standing, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; may lift up to 50 pounds; exposure to infectious agents and harsh chemicals. Heavy Work – Exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
