What You’ll Do!

Our Case Managers (position formally known as “Professional Partner”) serve a vital role to support consumers in our Family & Youth Investment program

This position provides wraparound services to individuals under the age of 26, who are diagnosable with a mental illness (Serious Emotional Disturbances or SED) and residing in Region V Systems’ geographical area (southeast Nebraska). Persons served are at risk of being placed outside of the home, school, or community and are at risk for involvement in the juvenile justice and/or child welfare systems, which may include committing a criminal offense or behavioral health problems at school or home. The population served is primarily school-aged youth but also includes those individuals who are transitioning from the youth system to the adult system and who are at risk of entering, or have already entered, the adult emergency system.

You will use your problem-solving skills to work with your program participants (15 caseload maximum!) to develop a unique and creative plan to build on the natural support systems in their lives. In other words – you will help set the stage for success.

What You’ll Have!

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field. Extensive experience (3 or more years) in related human services field may be substituted for degree.
  • This experience will soar you to the top of our list: 2 years’ experience working with persons with serious emotional disturbances (SED) and/or 2 years’ experience in a behavioral health direct service position.
  • Strong communication skills, effective facilitation of team meetings, authoring concise progress notes, and prioritizing multiple tasks are some of the skills you need.
  • Ability to coordinate with external agencies that are also working with your program participants is crucial.
  • Satisfactory background investigation is required.

Region V Systems, one of six Behavioral Health Regions in Nebraska, is responsible for the development and coordination of publicly funded behavioral health services within its 16-county service area (southeast Nebraska). Region V Systems:

About Region V Systems

History Region V Systems was created by state statute in 1974 with the responsibility of coordinating and overseeing the delivery of publicly funded mental health services for the 16 counties making up the Region V geographical area. Two years later, the responsibility for the development and coordination of substance abuse services was added. In 2004, LB 1083, the Behavioral Health Services Act, was passed, repealing the original statutes but re-establishing and renaming the Regions as Behavioral Health Authorities.
