POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Drafter.
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt.
REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering.
The following description is not intended as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities,

To add to or change the duties of the position at anytime.*
SUMMARY:
Prepares clear, complete and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes by performing the following:
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts of whole structure or project.
- Utilizes knowledge of various machines, manufacturing processes, engineering practices, mathematics, fabrication materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
- Makes any adjustments or changes necessary as required.
- Draws charts for presentation of statistical data.
- Draws finished designs from sketches.
- Uses computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software. (Autocad and/or Solidworks)
As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
Management must contact the Human Resource department of adding to or changing a significant number of duties.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Justification for Education and Training, Job Related Experience, and Knowledge/Abilities are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this job by the average incumbent. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Associates Degree or Equivalent.
MINIMUM DIRECTLY RELATED JOB EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience with CAD Drafting and One (1) year in Engineering Department.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
- High mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Knowledge of CAD equipment and MIL-STD drawings.
- Knowledge of quality control.
- Knowledge of Military Specifications.
- Ability to interact with a group of coworkers.
- Ability to work with complex equipment.
- Ability to establish procedures.
- Ability to work in a production oriented environment.
- Ability to work under frequent changing priorities.
- Ability to select and evaluate priorities.
- Ability to read and comprehend documentation written in the English language.
- Problem solving and decision making skills.
