Overview:

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate assigned vehicles safely and courteously.
• Maintain defensive driving training.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on daily trip sheets.
• Fuel-assigned vehicles adequately and record fuel purchases.
• Complete incident, accident, and other reports requested from leadership.
• Interpret maps and driving directions to plan efficient routes.
• Communicate between patients and health center staff. Report any changes concerning the daily schedule when transporting.
• Ensure patients are identified.
• Assist passengers in and out of the vehicle. Operate ramps and lifts. Escort patients to the health center’s lobby and open doors.
• Work flexible shifts.
• Performs other duties when assigned.

Qualifications:

• Have the ability to work flexible schedules to meet organizational needs or expansion of services.
• Must have a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
• Have the ability to drive a multi-passenger vehicle.
• Per insurance standards, have an acceptable safe driving record.
• Have the ability to work with people of diverse cultural, educational, social, and economic backgrounds.
• Have the ability to prepare concise and accurate reports.
• Have the ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certification in CPR
• Defensive Driving
• 4 years of driving experience required.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred; must be able to read, write and speak English.
