Reeves Eye Institute is Hiring a Front Office Receptionist Near Johnson, TN

POSITION: Front Office Receptionist

DEPARTMENT: Business Office

REPORTS TO: Front Office Manager

Job Summary: Front Office Representative’s Role is to address patients as soon as they step into the office's front door. Customer Service is a vital part of this role. In this role you will check in, check out, collect payment, answer phone calls, and work the practices assigned claim buckets and patient payments on a daily basis. We as a front office team interchange roles according to a schedule.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years minimum experience in medical practice. (preferred)
  • Medical Insurance Knowledge (preferred)

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Empathetic personality and attention to patient’s needs.
  • Management of multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Strong organization with attention to detail.
  • Respectful treatment of patients and co-workers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Check-In Responsibilities:

Properly checking patient information, insurance, and payments. Properly following the check in guidelines and checklist to make sure our patients are being checked in correctly. Making sure insurance is valid and active, checking copays, and patient responsibilities. Collecting patient responsibilities. Collecting No show and Cancellation fees before check in. Printing the face sheet and making sure it is in the correct Doctor’s bucket. Calling and notating no show patients daily.

Check-Out Responsibilities:

Scheduling the patients follow up appointment, collecting patient responsibilities, check that all referral letters have been sent to the referring provider, making sure patients understand the Doctors directions, giving patient their glasses prescription and collecting refraction fee and if so, referral calls.

Phone Responsibilities:

Answering the phone when it is ringing. Properly addressing the needs of the patient on the phone. Scheduling appointments correctly and efficiently, collecting all the information you need. Recall calls being made to schedule.
