Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Advocate to join our team. As a Family Advocate, you will play a crucial role in supporting families and ensuring the well-being of children. This position requires a strong background in childcare, child protective services, and social work.
Duties:
- Responsible for individualized care plan of children and their families through assessment, identification, monitoring, advocacy, coordination and integration of support services as needed.
- Implement and oversee family engagement and parent outreach activities/ support services.
- Working with an integrated team of professionals including Directors, Teachers and Mental Health Consultants.
- Assists program with IEP/IFSP referrals, following up and advocating for parents at required meetings as needed.
- Assist families in accessing community resources and services.
- Monitor the progress of families and provide ongoing support and guidance.
- Document all interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately and timely.
Skills:
- Experience working with children in a childcare or child protective services setting.
- Strong knowledge of social work principles and practices.
- Excellent conflict management skills to effectively handle challenging situations.
- Understanding of behavioral health issues affecting children and families.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads efficiently.
