The Instructional Technology Department at Red Rocks Community College is seeking applicants that are effective at creating engaging and innovative learning solutions to join our team. This position exists to support faculty in the development of effective online learning environments for online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses. Through collaboration with faculty, staff and administrators, this position will ensure that courses meet approved standards and incorporate both established and emerging instructional technologies effectively. The position will also help the Director of Instructional Technology provide learner management system support, development and delivery of training programs for college faculty and staff, and other assignments as needed.
Consults with faculty members individually or in small groups on effective strategies to meet specific learning goals, including use of the learning management system and related instructional technologies; assists faculty members and departments to design effective online and hybrid courses, course components and assessments, as well as web-based enhancements to traditional classes. Serves as LMS platform support, and provides direct faculty and student support. Provides technology-based training sessions for small groups of instructors or students. Tracks delivery and impact of faculty training activities and reports on results to Director of Instructional Technology. Develops training offerings on the andragogy/pedagogy of online learning and how to use the learner management system for online, hybrid and web-enhanced classes. Researches and evaluates new developments in online learning and instructional technologies; makes recommendations to instructors and assists with implementation. Takes a proactive role in the continuous improvement of Instructional Technology at RRCC. Promotes strategies for equitable education for students in the online environment. Guides instructors to learn about and implement principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), digital accessibility, and Open Education Resources (OER). Responsible for facilitation of virtual student union webpage, including maintenance of all web-based and student-facing online resources.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in instructional design, educational technology, or related professional field. One (1) year of professional work experience directly related to the position (such as training instructors in education technology, technical/professional with a learning management system such as; Blackboard, WebCT, Angel, Brightspace by D2L, eCollege, Canvas). Experience mentoring or training instructors in educational technology (such as multimedia authoring and production tools (e.g., Captivate or Photoshop), video production and editing software (e.g., Premiere) standard office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Word or Excel), assessment technologies (e.g., Respondus), cloud-based solutions for collaboration and document sharing (e.g., Google Drive or Dropbox), synchronous video conferencing and classroom technologies (e.g., Zoom), and even basic HTML (Hyper-text Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets).

Department Information: The mission of the Instructional Technology Department is to collaborate with faculty in their use of instructional strategies and technologies that improve learning outcomes for students in face-to-face, hybrid, and online classrooms. We accomplish this by providing pedagogical and technical support for the implementation of best practices for course design and delivery, as well as providing campus-wide training and support for the learning management system (LMS), accessibility of course materials, and integration of technology into classroom environments. Work Environment and Typical Work Schedule: Works directly with professional staff in the Academic Affairs division. Interacts with a variety of college employees at every level of the organization, and faculty and academic affairs professionals at other higher education institutions.
Work is generally performed in a standard office environment. The office is open Monday– Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. May require hours outside of regular office hours, and occasional weekend hours. Attendance at various off campus events and some travel may be required.

Starting Salary:Starting salary is determined by education and experience in accordance with our compensation plan.

Holidays
Benefit-eligible APT will be granted the same number of paid holidays granted to employees of the State Personnel System, pro-rated to their percent of employment.
