Red Rocks Community College is Hiring an Audio Video Specialist Near Lakewood, CO

Summary of Position

This position is an audio/visual equipment and services technician that works directly with faculty, staff, and vendors to determine classroom or departmental technology needs. The technician manages the solution to any needs including the design and installation of equipment and management of the solution. In addition, the position provides oversight for the AV work area and provides security camera, digital signage, and general personal computer hardware support.

Essential Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, Maintain, and repair: All classroom and campus venue audio, video and display technology issues to minimize classroom downtime, increase reliability and ease of use of all audio video technologies at all RRCC locations.
Event and Classroom Tech Support: Setup and operate common and specialized audio video technologies to support Classroom, Internal and External college classrooms, meetings and events. To include specialized knowledge of videoconferencing (Zoom, WebEx, etc.), public address sound systems, Audio mixers, cameras and video recording equipment. Some events are evening or weekend events. Duties include working with hardware and software issues along with providing routine maintenance and quality control, all done in accordance to CCCS policies and procedures, and RRCC Information Technology Services rules and regulations.
Ticket System Documentation: Enter work order information in the work ticket system, provide computer description and propitiation of the issue in the ticket. Notify the ITAV staff member of the ticket and follow up if necessary with the requestor.
Projects: Complete projects such as classroom technology refreshes, assist in determining equipment requirements and confirm all resources are on-site and available to complete refreshes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: One (1) year of work experience in Audio, Video and Multimedia Production.2-year/4-year degrees may substitute for work experience. Degrees must be in Audio/Visual Technology or a related field of study.
Preferred Qualifications:Associate degree or equivalent.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Demonstrates AV skills and knowledge, customer service, critical thinking, problem solving, and ability to work unsupervised and strong leadership skills. Membership in or experience working in diverse communities and supporting the success of individuals from racial, ethnic, and gender backgrounds that are underrepresented.


Physical and Cognitive Demands:
The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position:
  • Constantly uses a computer and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
  • Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
  • The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Occasionally moves, positions, and transports classroom and office equipment and supplies weighing up to 10 lbs. Additionally, the position mandates the ability to perform two-person lifts of TVs weighing up to 73 pounds and to push a rolling cart with a maximum weight of 500 pounds.

Department Information/summary:
The RRCC AV Department is part of the RRCC IT Department and is responsible for the selection, acquisition, installation, maintenance, training, operation and disposal of RRCC’s audio visual equipment. This includes microphones, speakers, cameras, displays, recorders, instructional technology equipment and the systems that connect and control them in permanent installations and temporary setups in all RRCC facilities and equipment checked out to faculty and staff for off campus use.
Work Environment and Typical Work Schedule (Dates and Times):
Work is generally performed in a standard office environment. May require hours outside of regular office hours, and occasional weekend hours. A typical work schedule will fall between business hours. Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
