Red Rocks Community college seeks applications for an energetic, student focused, individual to join our team as the Coordinator of Student Life Operations. Under the direction of the Director of Student Life, the successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the front desk student project center, food pantry, supervision of student life student employees. This position will research mentor programs and collaborate internally to launch a new mentor program that best fits the college's needs.
Manages the operations of all the student life spaces front desk, student project center, and food pantry on both campuses. Trains the student staff to run the areas. Takes inventory and maintains office supplies. Creates marketing materials for department events and updates the student handbook annually. Facilitates the hiring process for all Student Life student staff, to include promotion of positions, coordination of interviews, and completion of hiring paperwork and processes. Supervises student staff to include coordinating office coverage, providing training and development, and assessing their performance. Work with student employees leads on training, onboarding, and larger projects for the general student employees. Researches, implements, and oversees a mentoring program in conjunction with other departments. Raises awareness, increases retention and graduation rates of First-Generation students by building community, serving as advocates, providing education on the First-Generation experience, influencing university policies and practices to be more inclusive of the First-Generation identity, and developing meaningful co-curricular programs and university initiatives that support First-Generation students.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Two (2) years’ experience engaging diverse student populations. Experience engaging students virtually.
Education Substitution:A combination of education and directly related technical/professional work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Years of experience is in addition to any required years of experience for the position. Part time experience will be prorated.
Preferred Qualifications:Membership in or experience working in diverse communities and supporting the success of individuals from racial, ethnic, and gender backgrounds that are underrepresented.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to work from campus (primarily our Lakewood campus with occasional hours at the Arvada campus).Knowledge of budget management. Knowledge of student development theory, techniques, and practices. Proficient in graphics, desktop publishing programs and digital marketing.

Work Environment and Typical Work Schedule: The position is performed on both campuses in a standard office setting and will hold hours from 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. with possible required time outside of regular office hours and on weekends.

Starting Salary: Starting salary is determined by education and experience in accordance with our compensation plan.

Benefit-eligible APT will be granted the same number of paid holidays granted to employees of the State Personnel System, pro-rated to their percent of employment.
