Red Robin is Hiring a Bartender Near Liberty, MO

I. Position Summary:

The Bartender position consistently follows the Red Robin recipe book, processes and procedures to prepare drinks for Guests, takes accurate orders and keeps track of tickets. This position monitors and restocks the bar inventory as well as prepares items such as mixers and garnishes. The Bartender is responsible for checking Guests IDs and adhering to the Company responsible service of alcohol and cash handling policies. Additionally the Bartender is responsible for providing excellent Guest and internal service and for making sure the bar area and equipment are kept clean.


II. Essential Functions:

Delivers exceptional Guest service by being efficient, confident, personable, and an expert on all things beverage.

Prepare cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages for Guests per Red Robin guidelines including utilizing proper glassware and garnish.

Strong knowledge of common drink recipes and techniques.

Upholds and enforces state and local liquor laws and possess the ability to refuse service when necessary.

Ability to describe and recommend various types of wine and beer.

Suggestively sells to each bar Guest and is the SME (Subject Matter Expert) on alcohol for the restaurant. Encourages and challenges service Team Members to up sell beverages and increase beverage sales.

Ability to educate and develop service Team Members in all things beverage.

Successfully deploys new and promotional beverage items.

Monitors bar inventory and takes appropriate action to ensure adequate pars are full. Preps mixers and garnishes, washes and cuts produce, handles cash, and inputs orders into the computer.

Explains menu items and offers appropriate suggestions to Guests.

Consistently achieves target production times.

Shows knowledge and concern for understanding waste management and controlling bar costs. Must be able to read and organize tickets.

Uses the POS (Point of Sale) system effectively and accurately.

Must maintain safe, clean and sanitary work station, equipment, blenders, soft serve machine, coffee pots and perform proper glass washing.

Able to transport food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate guest.

Pre-bus and bus bar and tables. May assist with takeout orders.

Must be able to communicate and interact with guests, handle crowds and put guests at ease. Performs a variety of tasks. Must maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for extended period of time, and have ability to accurately handle money, make change and process credit card transactions. Able to adhere to schedule and be on time for shifts, training and required meetings. Operate and participate effectively in a team environment.


Physical Effort

Lifting- up to 10lbs constantly, up to 25lbs frequently, up to 50lbs occasionally.

Lifting from floor to shoulder constantly and overhead frequently.

Exposed to cleaning chemicals.

Color and depth perception required for vision. Needs both near and far vision.

V. Qualifications:

High School degree or equivalent preferred

Minimum of 2 years related experience preferred or Red Robin restaurant serving experience Must be 21 years or older

Must be certified in responsible service of alcohol training approved by state regulatory agency

Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in a restaurant. Relies on experience and judgment to make effective decisions.

Ability to accept responsibility and be accountable for decisions and actions.

Excellent organization and problem solving skills.

Ability to handle cash accurately.


VII. Working Conditions:

Equipment

Computer, calculator, desk supplies, cash drawer, bar taps, mixer, soft service machine, blender, bottle opener, glass racks, dish machine, telephone, food product.

Work Environment

Typical restaurant environment, heat and a/c, cold in freezer and walk in refrigerator
