A busser/barback are a vital part of the hospitality industry to help insure business can run smooth and we can have people seated and give them the best experience they deserve.
Bussing role typically includes:
- Being aware of what stages tables are at and being ready to clean them as soon as the guests are away from the table.
-Assisting servers with pre-bussing
- Bringing back and emptying dishes
- Making sure each table is properly cleaned and set up for the next guest.
Barbacks typically have similar responsibilities but a few more added on:
-Greeting guests behind the bar and grabbing them waters and menu's
-Introducing the bartenders
-Grabbing anything the bartenders need - from ice to keg changes to liquor/wine stocking
-Closing down the bar with the bartender and assisting in all cleaning tasks
-Trying to anticipate their needs before they ask
