 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Executes assigned performance and qualification testing plan, documenting test plan execution and progress in ticketing infrastructure
  • Reviews assigned high-level testing tasks and creates detailed, specific test plans to cover all necessary test requirements.
  • When necessary, provides assistance to support and sales teams on performance-related engagements.
  • Works with the performance team to conduct analysis of results from completed test plans and generates reports for engineering, sales, support, and product management.
  • Analyzes data to identify performance regression with a goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
  • Contribute to the development of automation frameworks for performance qualification testing and analysis in order to provide continual process improvement.
  • Contribute to the performance team in our efforts to engage with the product management and engineering teams to understand and give feedback on performance implications of product design and architecture choices, both hardware and software, to ensure products meet customer and product requirements.
  • Identifies root causes of performance and hardware problems; recommends and/or implements corrective measures.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Working knowledge with some form of *NIX like OS
  • Familiar with FIO or Vdbench or similar performance benchmarking tools 
  • Working knowledge and experience with computer server class hardware, 
  • Proficient with a word processor and spreadsheet software
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn development and testing processes.
  • Competent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with developers, product managers, customer support, sales engineers, and vendor representatives.
  • Competent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Plus to have Skills/Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of FreeBSD and TrueNAS
  • Familiar with the concept of relational databases.
  • Proficient Python, and shell scripting.
  • Proficient Data storage and Networking

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Comply with Company policies as stated Employee handbook 

Base Pay Range

  • The base pay range of this position is $ 75,000 to $95,000 annually. Additional compensation through the Incentive Bonus Program is available for this position.
