Want to be an Structures Engineer for Game Composites?

The Structures Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, analyzing, and ensuring the structural integrity of aircraft structures, components, and systems. Your work will contribute to the safety, performance, and efficiency of general aviation aircraft, helping to advance the industry and enhance the flying experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and developing structural components, including airframes, wings, landing gear, and other critical elements of general aviation aircraft.
  • Performing structural analysis on thermoset composites using computer-aided design (CAD) software, finite element analysis (FEA), and other tools to assess the structural integrity, stress analysis, and performance of aircraft components.
  • Selecting appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to ensure optimal structural performance, weight, and durability, while adhering to industry and safety standards.
  • Staying up-to-date with and ensure adherence to relevant aviation regulations and certification requirements, such as those from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
  • Participating in the development and testing of prototypes and perform failure analysis to improve designs and address structural issues.
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including aerodynamics engineers, systems engineers, and manufacturing teams, to ensure integration of structural elements into the aircraft design.
  • Assessing and optimize the cost-effectiveness of structural designs and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Maintaining accurate records, design documentation, and reports to track the progress and ensure the traceability of design changes.
  • Staying current with advancements in materials, technologies, and methodologies to propose innovative solutions and improve existing designs.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (relevant direct work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree on a case-by-case basis).
  • 7 (seven) or more years of relevant work experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Proven experience in structural design and analysis of thermoset composites in general aviation or similar aerospace components.
  • Experience with and an understanding of carbon fiber behaviors in an epoxy matrix.
  • Proficiency in using CAD software and FEA tools (e.g., SolidWorks, ANSYS, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and certification processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with an attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes specific to aircraft design.
