Company Overview: Recovery Plus is dedicated to making cardiac health available to everyone who needs it. We are a fast growing business currently seeking an Exercise Physiologist. This role will work out of our clinic on 58th street in Manhattan, providing cardiac rehab sessions and CPET testing. Our cardiac rehab program is tailored to the care plan prescribed by the referring physician, offering patients access to a team of exercise physiologists, registered nurses, health coaches, and dietitians who cater to each patient's unique needs. Position Overview: As an Exercise Physiologist specializing in cardiac rehabilitation, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting patients and athletes through their personal health journey. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to design and implement personalized exercise programs and administer cardiopulmonary exercise testing. Your expertise in cardiac rehabilitation and knowledge of exercise physiology will contribute to the improvement of individuals cardiovascular health, overall well-being, and help them to reach their goals. Location is based in Manhattan.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' cardiovascular health, exercise tolerance, and overall physical fitness.
  • Develop individualized exercise prescriptions based on patients' clinical condition, medical history, and specific rehabilitation goals.
  • Supervise and monitor patients during exercise sessions, ensuring proper form, safety, and effective progress.
  • Conduct CPET testing with supervision of medical staff present in the clinic.
  • Educate patients on the benefits of regular exercise, heart-healthy lifestyle modifications, and risk factor management.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop comprehensive care plans that integrate exercise, nutrition, medication management, and psychosocial support.
  • Regularly assess patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to their exercise programs to optimize outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records and documentation of patient encounters and treatment plans.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in cardiac rehabilitation research, technology, and best practices through continuing education and professional development.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, outcome tracking, and performance evaluation to enhance the effectiveness of the cardiac rehabilitation program.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or a related field.
  • Certification as an Exercise Physiologist through a recognized professional organization (e.g., ACSM, NSCA).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in cardiac rehabilitation or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing exercise prescriptions tailored to patients with various cardiac conditions and risk factors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively educate and motivate patients. • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Experience with electronic health records and documentation systems.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement processes and coding related to cardiac rehabilitation services.
