Pay Range: $66,560 - $99,840 / year

Summary

Responsible for reviewing maintenance requests from other departments and determining job scope in terms of labor, materials, equipment, and tools required to complete the job and works closely with the operating department representatives and Maintenance Supervisors to plan maintenance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following examples of duties and responsibilities illustrate the general range of tasks assigned to the position but are not intended to define the limits of required duties. Other essential duties may be assigned consistent with the general scope of the position.

  • Plan for the timely, cost effective, reliable and safe execution of all plant maintenance work and resources by evaluating various data sources and understanding the priorities of the organization
  • Research, obtain and organize all information required for the Crafts to perform the work: permits, drawings, vendor manuals, supplemental instructional materials, special procedures, historical documentation, and other applicable materials required to complete the work
  • Identify and acquire parts, materials and tools necessary to complete work, through stores inventory or vendors
  • Create purchase requisitions for parts, equipment and contractors. Ensure service entry sheets are accurate and process for payment
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive Bills of Material (BOM) and any special kitting instructions.
  • Develop and maintain job plans for repetitive work
  • Serve as liaison between operations, engineering, procurement, vendors, and contractors, etc. for maintenance work.
  • Coordinate and assist in the planning of shutdowns and prepare shutdown packages that include timelines, material requirements, necessary drawings, procedures and contractor needs
  • Coordinate planning operations within the site for consistency
  • Identify and acquire any specialized tools or equipment required

Qualifications

Incumbents must have demonstrated knowledge and abilities in these areas. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

  • Requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years direct work experience in industrial maintenance environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Associate’s Degree preferred

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems such as SAP for data entry and report generation
  • Ability to plan, track and allocate resources and work in SAP and other work order scheduling systems.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Must have working knowledge of maintenance scheduling function
  • Detailed knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling methodologies
  • Thorough working knowledge of chemical plant equipment, maintenance procedures and preventative maintenance methods
  • Detailed knowledge of PSM systems requirements related to maintenance activities
  • Knowledge of overall plant operations is highly desirable 
  • Ability to be decisive with the information available
  • Ability to influence operations in negotiating appropriate time lines for maintenance and repair schedules
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks in a timely manner
  • Able to track detailed work flow information to ensure all work is completed and documented satisfactorily
