Rebound Orthopedics and Neurosurgery is Hiring a Financial Counselor Near Vancouver, WA

The hourly wage offered for this position is $19.73 - $27.61.:
Rebound is the largest orthopedic and neurosurgical practice in the Portland-Vancouver area with an array of sub-specialties including orthopedics, brain and spine care, sports medicine, physiatry, physical therapy and hand therapy. We are proud to be the team physicians for the Portland Trail Blazers, the Portland Winterhawks and several collegiate teams and celebrate over 50 years of serving the community with a commitment to providing superior service to our patients.
We are looking for a full time financial counselor to to join our wonderful Financial Clearance department. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, problem solving, and decision making skills; Ability to work with a great deal of accuracy and attention to detail; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
Responsibilities: :
  • Respond to patient inquires according to state and Federal laws or applicable internal policies.
  • Prepare various surgery or procedure estimates for patients and collect deposits.
  • Review financial history to billing cycle start and collect patient responsibility portion of payment.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, coverage, deductibles and co-payments.
  • Screen and assist the uninsured and under-insured in obtaining public benefits or other financial sponsorship.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • College level accounting or business courses preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of insurance billing procedures, collection laws and medical terminology preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients and co-workers.
