Position Overview:

The Vice President of People Success (Vice President, Human Resources) will play a pivotal role in leading our People Success team. This individual will be responsible for aligning our talent strategies with our overall business objectives, while also leading our Business Partner, Learning and Development, and possibly some other center of excellence teams depending on the background and experience of the right candidate. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a dynamic personality, capable of driving change and innovation within our organization. This role will also act as an internal consultant to senior leaders on all talent management, organizational development, performance management, and employee experience topics.

Above all, the VP, People Success will be an accomplished leader, providing thought leadership, driving operational excellence, fostering collaboration, and aligning people strategies with overall business goals. Collaborative, visionary, and inspirational leadership will be pivotal to success at Realty Income, where our purpose is building relationships and brighter financial futures. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership to the People Success Partners, guiding them to effectively align talent strategies with the goals of senior leadership teams.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to develop and implement people initiatives that support business objectives and drive organizational success.

  • Lead the Learning and Development team in designing and implementing programs that enhance leadership development, employee skills, knowledge, and career growth opportunities.
  • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to foster a culture of belonging and respect within the organization.
  • Develop and analyze talent and people metrics and data to identify trends and areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in HR and implement innovative solutions to enhance the employee experience.
  • Offer mentorship and guidance to other key members of our team such People Operations, Compensation, Talent Acquisitions and Facilities to ensure efficient and effective talent processes.

The successful candidate will impart their vision and guidance to primary decision-makers, serving as a thought leader. They will act as a business partner to the executive management team in identifying opportunities and issues and will supervise solution implementation. The VP, People Success will be responsible for maintaining a positive culture, mentoring direct reports, and ensuring that everyone is working together as a team. They will lead a service-oriented organization, which will integrate well with all other departments in the business yet enforce best-in-class standards and disciplines.

  • Experience working in a dynamic, high-performance environment, with the ability to adapt quickly to change.
  • Awareness of current trends and best practices in learning and development.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills to address employee relations issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in project management to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Must be extremely organized, self-motivated, and capable of working in a rapidly changing environment with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management.
  • Must have a professional demeanor and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times when dealing with highly sensitive matters.
  • Successful candidates will possess superior consultative and influencing skills, superior verbal/written communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, project management skills, and the ability to thrive and execute on people operations items.
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities, work independently and as a team in an ambiguous and dynamic environment.
  • High level of finesse and gravitas.
  • We expect at least 10 years of progressive people and talent experience will be required to gain the competencies required for this role, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field required, master’s preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a global organization is required.
  • Prior experience working in an organization located in California is required or working knowledge of California employment laws.

What you will get in return: 

The base salary for this role is in the range of $184,525 - $321,059. You may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and an annual discretionary stock award, (dependent on date of hire) to be discussed during the initial phone interview. Base salary and total compensation package determined by the candidate's experience, knowledge, education, skills, performance, and abilities, as well as internal equity, company performance, and alignment with market data.
