Description

JOB SUMMARY

Operate computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal work pieces.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Work with a sense of urgency to complete a job or task.
  2. Required to have basic measuring equipment (1 mic. 6 Cal. 6 scale)
  3. Check to ensure that work pieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation.
  4. Lift work pieces to machines manually, or with hoists or cranes.
  5. Must be able to identify tool wear.
  6. Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
  7. Maintain precise in process reports, count sheets, and daily machine maintenance reports.
  8. Work as a team member and communicate well with leaders and co-workers.
  9. Replace worn or broken tooling with supervision.
  10. Willing to attend training to improve skills / knowledge.

Qualifications



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 1 year experience as a CNC machine operator or a Basic Machining/CNC Fundamentals Certificate in Applied Science.
  • Able to read and interpret part Blueprints.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance is desired.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods is also desired.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years experience as a CNC machine operator.
