Job Title: Virtual HR Advisor II (HR Business Partner) – Multi-state

Compensation: $49 - $57 per hour modified full-time 30 hr/wk

Department: Human Resources

Reports To: Reports to: Founder Senior HR Consultant

JOB SUMMARY:  Virtual HR Advisor II will provide various HR Support Services and valuable HR advice to Real HR Hero clients and staff. HR Advisor II will assess client needs, provide a gap analysis, and work with the client to prioritize work/projects. The value of hiring a fractional HR firm like RHRH is that we serve as expert advisors and practitioners and support their day-to-day HR duties.
This position will focus on our California clients and the complexities of CA labor and wage/hour, but will also need to support HR operations nationwide.

This position will assist Real HR Hero HR Consultant with Employee Handbook projects and assist with compliance/blog newsletter.

Strategic thinker, a leader, a self-starter, has a desire to create, is detail-oriented, responsive, and has a sense of humor. This position combines an HR Support Specialist and HR Expert Advisor. Ultimately, you should remain productive, handle projects, and deliver high-quality work under minimum supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Account Management – main or backup point of contact, customer service, project management, client retention.
  • Job Costing -- Track billable vs. non-billable and Administrative vs non-Administrative time.
  • Currently, the expectation for a fully onboarded HR Advisor II is to have a minimum of 70% billable hours.
  • HR Assessments and Gap Analysis.
  • Help clients resolve complex employee relations issues and address grievances.
  • Work closely with client management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
  • HR Strategy / Talent Management
  • Manage projects, to-do lists, templates, and client documents using a web-based application(s).
  • Employee handbook, IIPP/safety manual, job description, and policy review/creation.
  • Conduct research through various methods and provide clients with findings and applicable advice.
  • Provide knowledgeable and experienced-based advice and recommendations to clients.
  • Assist with HR tasks such as employee relations, recruiting, training, management of personnel, onboarding/offboarding, benefits admin, payroll processing and implementations, reporting, etc.
  • Work with legal partners when necessary.
  • Manage your calendar effectively - ensure timely support is provided to clients and internal team members.
  • Create HR form/document templates and assist with implementation.
  • Work with Administrative Business Partners and other HR Consultants to keep an ongoing flow of Blog/compliance/educational notices. Write professional HR-related articles, branded and formatted the RHRH way.
  • Stay current on new regulations, trends, and HR best practices.
  • Provide HR guidance and assist clients with plans and techniques to drive change and culture management.
  • Work with HR vendors/partners to provide clients with a well-rounded HR experience.
  • Confidentiality awareness handling client and employee information
  • Ensure clients are aware of all of our services. Offer when appropriate.
  • Client visits – may be asked to go periodically go onsite at various RHRH clients in their area.
  • Sell your expertise! Sell what we have to offer! Sometimes clients need a nudge or reminder so they don't go elsewhere!

Required Education/Experience:

  • Prefer 6 years of progressive multi-state HR experience, resulting in HRBP experience.
  • Must have extensive California experience to be successful in this position.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal guidance, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and take initiative under unfamiliar circumstances.
  • Must have proven multi-state HR experience but must have extensive experience in California.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • Interested in unconventional lifelong learning
  • Experience in project management, preferably HR related.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, functions, methods, and best practices – Multi-state
  • Solid understanding of research methods and analysis
  • Computer savvy with working knowledge of human resource IT (ATS, Payroll, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to strategize and formulate business plans
  • An analytical mind with problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to work with minimal guidance, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and take initiative under unfamiliar circumstances.
  • A team player
  • A positive outlook on the HR function
  • Must have a semi-private home office. A place to facilitate/attend uninterrupted (as much as possible 😊) virtual meetings.
  • Understands and applies the Work Smarter, Not Harder concept – balancing fun, creativity, and hard work!
  • Experienced HR Business Partner that also has experience consulting.

SENSORY DEMANDS - The incumbent must spend long hours in intense concentration. The incumbent must also spend long hours on the computer entering information, which requires attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
MENTAL DEMANDS - There are a number of deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant pressure. The incumbent must also deal with a wide variety of people on various issues.
