Reports to: Administrator/Program Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare and serve all meals in strict accordance to Doctors, Dietitians and Food Service Director directives.
  • Assist in planning, preparation and serving meals.
  • Assist in ordering, food acquisitions, and menu planning.
  • Comply with health codes; ensure cleanliness of refrigerators, stoves, pantries, cooking, serving and dining areas
  • Maintain daily schedule and required documentation
  • Ensure food rotation and restocking is in adherence to expiration dates
  • Follow and implement all policies and procedures
  • Maintain flexible work schedule
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on operational agency needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required and Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • year experience in food preparation service
  • Able to read and follow standardized recipes
  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
  • Able to work as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Must be able to ascend and descend up to three flights of stairs throughout the course of a normal workday.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Must be Serve Safe Certified (National Restaurant Association)
  • Food Handlers (American National Standards Institute) (preferred)
  • Must have Valid driver’s license
  • First Aid / CPR certification within 1st year of employment
  • Employment contingent upon clear fingerprint and criminal history record.
