The Opportunity:

REST is seeking an experienced leader to provide direction and support to four program areas: the 7 bed, short-term residential shelter; the REST hotline; outreach services; and behavioral health services. The manager is responsible for ensuring that we provide exceptional, survivor-centered, trauma-informed care to 100 survivors annually through 12 dedicated staff.

The Manager of Emergency Services is a key member of the Survivor Services team. The manager supports the director in setting, prioritizing, and achieving the division’s goals. The manager is a team player, who works collaboratively across the division, to ensure the success of the Emergency Services programs and the larger Survivor Services division.

What you bring:

At a minimum,

• 4 years of experience working with vulnerable populations

• Bachelor’s degree in social services or equivalent experience

• Minimum 1 year experience working in a shelter setting with vulnerable populations, emergency shelter experience preferred 

• You have demonstrated success as a leader of people.

• You bring personal awareness and experience applying DEIA to your work.

• You are able to work in harmony with our Statement of Faith.

• You have excellent people management skills, having led multiple teams to success.

• You have expert level knowledge on how to support clients with complex trauma in residential and clinical settings through trauma-informed care. You have experience supporting teams to set boundaries, de-escalate conflict, and support vulnerable clients.

• You use both strategic and critical thinking to plan for the future and to solve for here and now issues.

• You are a strong, effective communicator who uses tact, diplomacy and clarity in your words and actions.

• You understand that the culture of the organization must be healthy and vibrant for us to be successful in delivering our services; you have fostered and sustained a healthy workplace.

• You love to coach, mentor, and guide team members to be successful in their roles. You are passionate and experienced in building and growing a team.

The salary range for this position is $73,000 to $80,000 per year.

SCHEDULE

This position typically works 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with flexible hours. On-call and outside hours may be required. Some holidays may be required.

LOCATION

REST’s office is located in South Seattle. This is a hybrid position but will require presence on-site to support team members and clients.

JOB CONDITIONS

This position encounters a variety of daily work situations, including complex situations that require immediate attention and decision making. There may be both routine and complex interpersonal interactions to navigate with care and thoughtfulness. Processes may change based on changing needs of the organization, new technology, or new ideas for efficiency. Position operates as part of a team and engages in on-site and remote work that may require time spent sitting, standing, walking up and down stairs, driving, transporting items. Position works under occasional time constraints to meet objectives, and performs computer work, including using a keyboard, looking at a screen, using the internet, email, phone, and video conferencing.
