About the Navigator role:

The Navigator is primarily responsible for addressing the emergent needs of injured Ready Rebound members and assisting them with obtaining an expedited appointment with a Rebound approved provider within 24-48 hours from the time of contact.

This role requires not only a high degree of orthopedic knowledge to accurately assess injuries over the phone but just as important is the ability of the Navigator to demonstrate a high degree of empathy, compassion, and an ability to develop relationships with members during a New Member Intake.

The Navigator is required to consistently demonstrate a high degree of clinical competency and accuracy while assessing injuries and also demonstrate the same level of accuracy and completeness with their note taking.

This Navigator role will be responsible for learning and applying Worker's Compensation processes as the apply to specific regions, individual departmental nuances, and the ability to think independently and creatively problem solve while engaged in the care of a Ready Rebound member. Additionally, this role will focus primarily on member call intake and appointment prep for other Navigator team members.

The Navigator represents an integral role within the framework of Ready Rebound and therefore must be able to collaborate with other members within and outside of the Navigator department which may include, Provider Network Services team, Implementation and Onboarding team, Sales, and other members of the Ready Rebound team, as needed.

Navigator Responsibilities:

  • The Navigator must represent the core values of Ready Rebound to the members at all times which include: Trust, Compassion, Integrity, and Empathy.
  • The Navigator generally represents the first interaction with a member and therefore must strive to begin to develop a relationship with that individual which embodies Rebound's ideals of "people first".
  • The Navigator must be committed to serving our members and using all means at their disposal to ensure that the member receives the best care through a Ready Rebound approved provider in an expedited manner.
  • Must be capable of addressing injured Ready Rebound members needs 40 hours a week which may include weekends and holiday.
  • Collaborate and communicate with all team members within the Navigator department, Provider Network Services team, Implementation and Onboarding team, Sales, and other members of the Ready Rebound team, as needed.
  • Uphold and strive to further the standards of care already set by Ready Rebound.
  • Participate in onboarding and implementation meetings with new clients to best understand clients market specific requirements and needs.
  • Communicate clearly and succinctly with members to ensure a complete and accurate New Member Intake is obtained.
  • Communicate professionally in all forms (text, email, phone call) with Ready Rebound stakeholders, members, providers, and provider offices.
  • Must be able to work responsibly and independently while working remotely.
  • Perform a New Member Intake with attention to detail and completeness.
  • Ensure that all questions that a member has regarding their claim process, treatment options, and scheduling are answered completely and accurately.
  • The Navigator must possess a basic understanding of each area of operation Ready Rebound is contracted with and the unique Worker's Compensation Process for that area, each department's reporting process, and the steps in which an injured worker must go through prior to securing an appointment.
  • Address member's requests for specific doctors, locations, and times for appointments when possible while remaining within Ready Rebound's network of providers.
  • Quickly and accurately relay information to providers to expedite the scheduling of appointments. This includes understanding each market, each provider's office, and their preferred communication method.
  • Once the intake is completed, and an appointment is secured, the Navigator is required to communicate with the member the details of the appointment including the doctor's name, the clinic location, and the appointment time.
  • Ensure the member has received appointment details by requesting a confirmation text and when necessary following up with a phone call.
  • Provide clinical expertise to members when necessary through check-in concerns and pain notifications.
  • When applicable, maintain professional credentialing and updated CEUs within the Navigator's chosen field (i.e., NATA/APTA).
  • Always acknowledges and accepts that the Navigator will be called upon to complete administrative tasks handed out by the Director of Navigators, Director of Provider Network Specialists or other members of Ready Rebound's Leadership.

Requirements and Preferred Experience:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years working within a sports medicine setting/emergency medicine setting Experience working at the professional and/or collegiate level of athletics with a history of collaborating with team physicians, coaches, and other members of the sports medicine team preferred.
  • Experience working as a paramedic/EMT or in military medicine also acceptable.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • First Aid, CPR and AED certifications preferred, but not required.
  • FMS or NASM (PES/CES).
  • Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) preferred, but no required.
  • Certified Athletic Trainer Required.
  • If applicable, must have a current/active license and be in good standing with governing board Education/Training in sports medicine, emergency medicine, paramedic/EMT, military medicine also acceptable for review.

Technology:

  • Must possess or have access to the internet (minimum of 100 mbps)
  • Must possess working personal cell phone capable of handling mobile apps associated with job requirements of a Navigator at Ready Rebound

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong sense of personal responsibility, accountability, and motivation with a team orientated mindset.
  • Must possess superior interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to connect with others and display empathy while problem solving member's individual needs.
  • Possess strong foundational knowledge of orthopedic injuries and the recovery process.
  • Highly organized and capable of working in a dynamic environment with flexible hours.
  • Ability to know when a member's case requires more assistance due to its complexity both from a procedural standpoint and/or anatomical one and prompt necessary assistance.
  • Must embrace continuous improvement strategies as provider offices adapt to working with Rebound.
  • Possess the ability to recall specific details with accuracy as they relate to where the injured member is calling from and what the region's Worker's Compensation reporting process requires without prior notification.
