Fluent in American Sign LanguageThe Assistant Program Director will support the Program Director in the overall supervision and implementation of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Program, assuring that all policies and procedures are followed in accordance with DESE regulations. The Assistant Program Director will facilitate efficient day-to-day program operations of DHH with the goal of maintaining a high quality, student-centered program.Performance Responsibilities May Include:Oversee implementation of Collaborative and host school policies in accordance with DESE regulations.Provide daily and ongoing supervision and support to faculty of the DHH Program. Facilitate staff meetings and training as directed by the Program Director.Facilitate referral and intake of new students.Facilitate IEP Team Meeting Process/Oversee implementation of IEP’s.Act as a liaison to building principals as directed by the Program Director.Coordinate transportation of students with sending school districts and bus companies.Completion of observations and evaluations of personnel in accordance with READS Collaborative policies and DESE regulations. Facilitate positive public relations in the community through ongoing communication, striving to maintain a positive program image.Promote use of social media to communicate with families and staff with approval of the Program Director.Assure that program design, treatment philosophy, and interventions reflect up-to-date research and best practices in education.Promote a team culture and communicate regularly with the faculty, host school faculty and READS administration regarding students and general program and educational issues.Coordinate and oversee MCAS Administration, including ordering of test materials, assuring adherence to security procedures for test materials and providing training and consultation to faculty regarding MCAS Administration Participate in and contribute to monthly Program Directors meetings.Plan and manage professional development for DHH staff in collaboration with the Program DirectorCoordinate and oversee Early Intervention services including scheduling and implementation of IFSPs.Coordinate and oversee implementation of Summer Program in collaboration with the Program DirectorAssist the Program Director in all aspects of oversight and management of the DHH program.Any additional responsibilities as determined by the Executive DirectorTerms of EmploymentNon-Bargaining Unit PositionWork Year:205 days
