ABOUT THIS POSITION

We are currently searching for a Proposal Writer to join our Revenue & Impact team. Your primary focus will be to manage all aspects of Requests for Proposals (RFPs). If you have passion, knowledge, and expertise in coordinating responsive information, excellent communication and time management skills, and are self-disciplined and trustworthy, we would love to hear from you.

You'll love coming to work every day if you get, want, and have the capacity to do the following:

  • Strategically influence RFP/State Lists aligned to our products and services.
  • Proactively seek and respond to state lists, key evaluators (Ed Reports) key adoption lists, and RFPs.
  • Establish a decision-making rubric for responding, aligned with our company's vision and strategic goals.
  • Own the proposal process and timeline from beginning to end. This includes writing, collecting, and coordinating responses from various stakeholders and developing a content library that can be utilized to streamline the process.
  • Meet critical deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; enter and monitor tracking data; and coordinate requirements with contributors.
  • Review submissions for accuracy and meticulously check through all requirements, submission tools, compliance issues, signatures, etc.

You'll have success here if you value clear processes and feel qualified to do the following things:

  • Use your Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field. Or, relevant experience related to the role or with the Reading Horizons method.
  • Utilize 3 years of previous proposal writing experience or relevant experience with proposals or Reading Horizons methodology.
  • Work across divisions, including operations, product, operations, and revenue teams, to understand proposal needs and develop a strategy and plan for the proposal response.
  • Demonstrate proven experience creating strategies for convincing others to take appropriate action.

We train our team to help them succeed, and everyone on our team helps with our success. In this role, you'll be accountable for hitting the following measurables:

  • Have at least one state/district conversation every week to help influence and proactively seek out opportunities for Reading Horizons every week.
  • Compete 10-20 RFPs every quarter depending on seasonality.
  • Reach an 80% success acceptance rate of RFIs and RFPs we submit every month.
  • Source and review at least RFI or RFPs every week, up to 20 every month.
  • 100% of RFPs on track to submit by deadline every week.
  • 80% of RFPs accepted
