Responsibilities

Summary: 

You will formulate, organize, and monitor inter-connected projects and provide direction and coaching to the program management team. You will act as a coordinator between multiple projects within the organization ensuring each benefit the other and aligns with the overall strategy.

What You’ll Contribute Day-to-Day:

  • Oversee the management, performance, and execution of major account programs for the organization.
  • Direct all program phases, from inception through completion.
  • Coordinate and prepare proposals, as well as establish and monitor master plans and schedules.
  • Lead development, design, and testing teams, including facilitating team meetings, tracking action items, and guiding product launches.
  • Meet with customers to determine needs and requirements and monitor operations to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and make recommendations for improvement, collaborating with senior leadership to develop process and program changes.
  • Report project progress, including deliverables, significant milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies, to both customers and the management team.
  • Ensure that costs incurred are monitored against plans and realize benefits as planned as the program progresses.
  • Ensure that the plan realizes benefits in the best way for the carrier organization and the customer.
  • Approve the program plans of the program teams, negotiating work packages as required.

Qualifications

Skills Required:

  • Agile Methodologies: Understands the various agile methodologies and selects the appropriate methodology/combination of methodologies for the situation.
  • Agile Project Management: Manages projects within Information Technology (IT) or other functions in a highly flexible and interactive manner, in line with best practice agile principles.
  • Compliance Management: Ensures high levels of business compliance to relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards with regards to ethical standards, employee health and safety, environmental sustainability, conflicts of interest, etc. Enforces these internal policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborates with team members from different teams or functions to reach a common goal, or responsibility, or complete a project.
  • Insight Analytics: Takes a source of data and gains a better understanding of what this data means.
  • Product Launches: Uses careful planning procedures when bringing new or updated products to market. Considers the customer experience, uses product data to inform strategy, and creates a product launch checklist.
  • Project Controlling and Reporting: Sets up a project control process to effectively monitor cost and schedule, as things shift and evolve throughout the project life cycle.
  • Project Management and Methodologies: Applies frameworks and methodologies throughout a project's lifecycle. Provides structure to the way a project is delivered by applying principles, themes, frameworks, processes, and standards.
  • Project Management Tools and Solutions: Uses technology and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello, ProofHub, Basecamp, and ClickUp) to plan and manage the full project lifecycle.
  • Project Recovery: Turns around a poorly performing project and team by managing the quadruple constraints of time, cost, scope, and quality. 
  • Risk Assessment: Monitors potential risks to the organization on a continuous basis. Alerts the organization of emerging risks that could impact the organization's ability to conduct business.
  • Statement-of-Work (SOW): Designs and details a statement-of-work (SOW) defining all project aspects (e.g., project activities, deliverables, timetables, and schedules). A statement-of-work forms the groundwork of a project.

  • Critical Thinking: Makes correct inferences on complex problems that require critical evaluation. Understands a situation or problem by identifying patterns or connections and addressing key underlying issues and drives decision making. 
  • Planning and Organizing: Sets clearly defined objectives. Identifies and organizes deployment of resources based on assessed need and takes into account possible changing circumstances. Monitors team’s performance in meeting the assigned deadlines and milestones.
  • Problem Solving: Leverages knowledge, previous experience, and skills to identify the crux of an issue and creates a workable solution to resolve problems. Understands verbal or numerical information and how to make reasoned decisions based on this analysis.
  • Risk Management: Identifies, forecasts, and evaluates risks and navigates a way to avoid or limit their impact.
  • Solution Oriented: Proactively identifies opportunities and takes action to drive improvements that add value to business outcomes. Optimally aligns and coordinates resources that allows the organization to achieve desired business objectives.
