Job SpecificationsEDUCATION Master’s degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Administration, or a Related field
 
JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE 5-7 Years Experience in Head Start Organization, Early Childhood Education, Human Services or a Related Field
 
SUPERVISION RECEIVED Reach-Up Inc. Board of Directors
 
STARTING WAGE $93,100 
 
BENEFITS “All” with a regular schedule of 30 hours/week 
 
Job Summary: The Executive Director plans, guides, implements and oversees operation of Reach-Up Inc. and its programs. Responsible for the implementation of the vision and mission of Reach-Up Inc.
 
Essential Functions and Duties:1. Works in partnership with staff, Board, Policy Council, other human services agencies and State and national organization to implement effective, high quality programs that meet the needs of families.
 
2. Ensures implementation of standards governing Reach-Up Inc. programs and institutes methods that evaluate their effectiveness.
 
3. Directs, supervises and evaluates management staff in the operation of agency programs to ensure quality services.
 
4. Oversees the preparation of program budgets, financial reports and other required reports to demonstrate the appropriate and effective use of funds and provision of services.
 
5. Oversees the preparation and submission of grant applications, as approved by the Board and Policy Council, to ensure appropriate funding levels for agency programs.
 
6. Provides, promotes and oversees effective communication among staff, Board, Policy Council, families, volunteers and advisory committees.
 
7. Serves as liaison between staff and the community, Board, Policy Council, human service agencies and state and national organizations.
 
8. Oversees and ensures an effective Human Resources system that promotes quality staff performance.
 
9. Provides leadership and guidance for Reach-Up Inc., its programs and staff.
 
10. Develops and reviews policies.
 
11. Maintains a positive work environment by performing and communicating in a professional manner with children, families, co-workers and supervisors.
 
12. Performs other responsibilities as directed by the Board of Directors.
 
13. Respects, ensures and follows equal opportunity standards required by Reach-Up Inc’s Affirmative Action Plan.
 
14. Demonstrates confidentiality in all matters. 
 
15. Recruits families for Reach-Up Inc. programs throughout the year.
 
Reach-Up reserves the right to assign other duties as necessary.

Skills and Education:1. Master’s degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Administration, or a Related field
 
2. Experience with human services program management, staff supervision, grants administration and community organization and collaboration
 
3. Ability to work with a team and make decisions
 
4. Knowledge of and experience with community resources and volunteer programs
 
5. Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, solve problems and provide leadership
 
6. Computer skills and familiarity with software programs
 
7. Ability to write concisely and clearly
 
8. Ability to provide own transportation.
 
Tools and Materials Used:The manual dexterity to operate typical office equipment and a vehicle.
 
Physical Demands:The physical dexterity necessary to use a computer and sit at a desk for extended time periods. The ability to work accurately with numbers, communicate verbally, attend a workshop and drive a vehicle.
