About the role:

As Director of Software Engineering, you will be a pivotal people leader that shapes the future of our engineering team. You will be responsible for building and leading high-performing software engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, and attracting and retaining top talent. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your passion for people leadership and deep technical expertise to drive significant impact on our company's growth and success.

What you will do: 

• Build and lead high-performing software engineering pods with mixed tech skill sets across custom software (on AWS) and workflow automation (on Salesforce)

• Steward proper architectural principles and data model design practices to support our AWS, Salesforce, and Snowflake enterprise architecture

• Mentor, nurture, and support individual software engineers to set goals, track progress, and provide career development opportunities as well as provide hands-on coverage when needed

• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the engineering organization

• Continue to mature our software development processes, ensuring high quality and timely delivery of projects, in partnership with Product & Engineering leaders

• Attract, interview, and hire top software engineering talent

• Manage team budgets and resources effectively

• Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and technologies related to Salesforce, Snowflake, and AWS to help your dedicated Tech Leads make better architecture decisions

What you should have:

• 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role

• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams

• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps)

• Deep experience writing software in modern front- and back-end web frameworks

• Experience building software on top of AWS, Salesforce Platform, and Snowflake

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills

• Ability to mentor and coach individual contributors

• Passion for building and nurturing talent

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
