SHIFT: Weekends, Two 16-hour shifts, Two 12-hour shifts

Starting Rate: $33.00/hr. ($33.00 - $35.00/hr. dependent upon experience)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care and assessment to long-term and rehabilitation residents. A Registered Nurse may supervise duties performed by LPNs and CNAs in a team care setting under the direction of the Nurse Manager., Nursing Supervisor, and Director of Nursing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with RN Supervisor to ensure the best possible functions of the assigned unit
• Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepares and administers, and records prescribed medications
• Records patients’ medical information and vital signs
• Assesses the patient's ability to do routine daily tasks
• Recognizes and manages geriatric syndromes common to older adults, including cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary, hematological, musculoskeletal, endocrine, neurological, psychiatric/psychosocial, integumentary, sensory, and pain problems
• Prepares equipment and aids the physician during the examination and treatment of the patient
• Communicate with family members regarding patient
• Records all care information concisely, accurately, and promptly in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
• Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on the assignment setting

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree from an accredited school of nursing
• Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York requires
• Education or experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred
• Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
• Strong customer service skills and compassion
