PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This is a high-volume position requiring the ability to maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail; to use initiative and good judgement in performing job functions; accuracy and timeliness in servicing department customers and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Position also requires flexibility and adaptability in an environment in which priorities change frequently and in which cross training and back-up support are each department member’s responsibility.
The position will effectively administer and track employee leave of absence; Medical Discretionary Leave, Personal Discretionary Leave, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA), Pregnancy Disability Leaves, COVID-19, and other state/federal leaves of absence. It will also determine the employee eligibility, availability, and other leave requirements and will communicate regularly with all necessary parties regarding the status of employee leave of absence. This position will facilitate the interactive process under the American with Disability Act (ADA) and California Fair Employment Housing Act (FEHA).
This position will assist in administrating company’s benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, LTD, state disability, EAP and COBRA administration. Works with Human Resources Management in administering open enrollment and retirement plan educational meetings.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma plus some relevant college-level courses or HR certification preferred, or equivalent work experience/education combined. Three to four years’ experience in Human Resources, with an emphasis in leave of absence and benefits. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Effective English grammar skills; verbal and written communications. Proficient PC skills including MS Office and the Internet. Bi-Lingual Spanish or Vietnamese desirable but not required.
