Raventek Solution Partners is Hiring a Technical Project Manager Near Herndon, VA

Description

Job Title: Technical Project Manager

Department: Operations - Bench

Reports To: Raventek COO

Location: Herndon, VA with Flexibility for Telework 

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) coordinates IT Infrastructure and other IT related project build outs. The TPM plans, controls, documents, integrates, monitors financials and assets as well as completion of assigned customer projects. Oversees all phases of projects from initiation through delivery. The TPM is in a highly visible environment and will ensure there is constant interaction and communication with key stakeholders. Management of complex projects, working closely with Program Managers and Executive Management to schedule and execute projects for various-sized public and private clients (infrastructure, storage, network, server, end computing and IT appliances, etc.). The TPM will be responsible for creating and maintaining a collaborative work environment with employees in their assigned projects as well as setting goals for assigned team members. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance and therefore RavenTek's mission to support our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and manage budgets and schedules with guidance from upper management
  • Track and ensure timely completion of deliverables to key stakeholders
  • Proactively develop and deliver project schedules/dependencies to customers and stakeholders
  • Execute change control, quality, risk management and communications throughout the project
  • Generate project status reports, dashboards, meeting agendas, minutes, executive reports and presentations to stakeholders
  • Identify resources required for the project and oversee employee selection, hiring, and development while working with RavenTek recruiting team
  • Supervises assigned project technical staff 
  • Perform personnel actions including performance feedback
  • Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period
  • Submit MSRs (weekly, monthly, etc.)
  • Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 2 times per week, and respond accordingly
  • Complete required compliance training as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Travel will be required as needed to customer sites

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills

  • Extensive Knowledge and understanding of IT infrastructure inclusive of server, VOIP, storage, network, database, systems, DR/business recovery and continuity practices
  • Expertise in monitoring project status and implementing corrective action with input from key stakeholders
  • Ability to generates project status reports, dashboards, meeting agendas, minutes, executive reports and presentations to stakeholders
  • Advanced MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio and Office tools to manage plans, charts, reports and documentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills to ensure that the project is completed on time and on budget
  • Knowledge of Risk Management Framework and the Accreditation Process

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or 10 years' experience in related field in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of eight years of IT infrastructure and/or VoIP project experience (assessments, migrations, consolidations, etc.)
  • Experience deploying IT Infrastructure Systems in a DoD Environment
  • Management of technical teams to ensure on timely completion and within budget

Certifications, Licenses

  • ITIL, ITSM and Agile knowledge and certifications desired
  • PMP certification is desired but not required

Special Requirements

  • Top Secret preferred
  • Secret required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance

Work Environment

When working on-site, employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis. 

Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 30 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
