JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in one of the physical, environmental health, biological sciences, engineering, or agriculture. A minimum of 12 college credits in soil science or related soils classes is preferred.
· 0-3 years experience in environmental health or environmental engineering with land evaluation experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Under close supervision, assists the environmental project manager with professional environmental services and ensures compliance of project sites with applicable Federal, State, and County laws and regulations.
· Inspection of onsite sewage disposal systems for property transfer
· Inspection of sediment and erosion control devices on active project sites
· Assist with field delineation of Waters of the United States
· Assist with soil evaluations for onsite sewage disposal
· Operation of sampling or monitoring devices
· Assist with soil percolation tests
· Assist with the completion of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
· Preparation of field reports for submission of permits to local, state, and federal agencies
· Assist with residential and commercial onsite sewage disposal design
· Assist with field sampling for Natural Resources Inventories and Forest Stand Delineations
WORK CONDITIONS:
· Full time – 40 hours per week (8-hour shift Monday to Friday in-person)
· Field work for this position requires physical activity including standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
· Field work for this position will involve exposure to inclement weather and heat
· Field work for this position requires travel to and from project sites. While travel is usually provided from our central office location, assignments may require the operation of a motor vehicle in which case the employee will be required to possess a valid driver’s license
