Join a high-performing team to provide technical leadership, design, develop and implement new features for a mission-critical (platinum-tier) application portfolio: GTIS - Gas Transaction Information System, Gas Day, and Automated Cost of Gas. The Natural Gas Supply portfolio is a consolidated upstream/downstream gas supply solution that supports large volume gas customer billing, gas trading, curtailments, pipeline nominations, daily choice customer forecasting, and other essential gas supply activities.
Key activities in this Contingent Worker Software Engineer III role will involve:
Organizationally, the individual will work with a cohesive team: Product Owner, IT Delivery Manager, Primary Technical Lead, Solution Architects, Systems Support Tower Lead, DevOps, Project Managers, Developers, and MSP (Managed Services Provider) support team.
Skills Required:
- Expertise in the following languages:
o C#/.NET
o Python
o SQL (SQL Server and/or Oracle)
- Senior-level knowledge and experience with cloud technologies:
o AWS Lambda
o AWS S3
o AWS Glue
o Kafka
o Qlik
o REST APIs
- Can transform complex ideas into user stories that will then become workable solutions. Provide level of effort estimations relative to cost and duration.
- A deep and solid understanding of cyber security principles such as authentication, authorization, and encryption. Knowledgeable of common attack vectors, such as SQL injection, Denial of Service (DoS), Cross-Site Scripting, etc. and methods to limit exposure. Quick to identify and remediate potential security vulnerabilities.
- Experience working with one or more CI/CD stacks and associated best practices.
- Experience working with external technology vendors
- Can utilize Human Performance tools effectively to ensure critical business functions are supported
- Excellent relational skills and team-player approach that builds trust and enables healthy, high-performing teamwork
- Advanced communication skills, specifically:
- Clearly communicate team wide progress and identify blocking processes/patterns.
- Proactive in providing information to the team and leadership.
- Able to present information on technically complex subjects in both oral and written form.
- Technical documentation.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to work with others having differing backgrounds/life experiences/goals
- Demonstrated success in leadership of others and/or an application portfolio
- Previous Technical Lead experience
- Other technical skills:
o Angular
o HTML/CSS/JavaScript
o PowerShell
o ReactJS

Specific Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science OR High School Diploma with 10 years technical experience
- Work Experience:
o 7 or more years professional experience
- Serve in roles as Technical Lead, Designer, Developer, and Subject Matter Expert as needed.
- Collaborate with Product Owner and other ET&S Leads to plan and recommend viable solutions to advance the Strategic Business & Technology Roadmap for the Natural Gas Supply application portfolio.
- Lead the team in adopting and applying best practices for design, development, and deployment of new features and/or large-scale project outcomes.
- Apply waterfall and agile methodologies to deliver complex software solutions.
- Collaborate with business and ET&S team members to build well-designed, efficient, and effective solutions.
- Build cloud native software solutions in AWS and related technologies.
- Assist with providing technical direction to Gas Supply applications development and support teams, where needed.
o Help coordinate response to production emergencies.
o Ensure support team's work meets enterprise and GTIS Team standards.
- Coach and mentor other team members.
- Lead and participate in paired programming and code reviews, as a presenter or reviewer.
- Work with vendor(s) and internal teams to implement projects, software releases, enhancements, etc.
