Randolph Macon College is Hiring a Circulation & Resources Sharing Manager Near Ashland, VA

 
Randolph-Macon College invites applications for the Circulation & Resources Sharing Manager in the McGraw Page Library. Reporting to the Student Success Librarian, the qualified candidate for this position will be responsible for administering all procedures and policies governing the work of circulation services.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will:

  • oversee the operation of circulation processes and provide circulation assistance at the desk. 
  • oversee placement and receipt of interlibrary loan requests.
  • hire, train and supervise student assistants to support circulation and interlibrary loan functions. 
  • maintain print journals collection, including receiving, processing, claiming, and binding.
  • assists with shelving and collection maintenance tasks and supports student printing. 

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of tools such as MS Office; ability to adapt to a rapidly changing technological environment; aptitude for discovering, learning and troubleshooting software and hardware.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college or university.
  • Ability to plan, manage, and oversee multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize work in alignment with the strategic goals of the Library and the College.
  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively to different types of stakeholders with different knowledge backgrounds (e.g., students, faculty, administration, and public users of the library); ability to remain calm and well-organized and to adjust rapidly in a public services environment with frequent interruptions. Strong service orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a collegial, team-based environment and maintain positive working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous library experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience with OCLC WorldShare and navigating library systems.
