JOB SUMMARY
We are a family practice with an established patient base. In addition to preventive care appointments and scheduled procedures, we accept emergency calls. The ideal candidate will have a calm, reassuring and friendly demeanor as well as the ability to multitask in a fast-paced atmosphere.
QUALIFICATIONS
1 years' experience as a Dental Assistant
Knowledge of dentistry, particularly dental procedures, instruments and hygiene
Experience administering dental X-rays
Technical skills and proficiency with dental, scheduling, office and other software
Customer service and communication skills to ensure patients feel comfortable during appointments
Organizational and multi-tasking skills, general office aptitude
Excellent verbal communication skills
Availability to work evenings until 6pm one day a week
Experience working with children preferred
Basic understanding and knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules
Current CPR certification required
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Prepare exam rooms and sterilize instruments and ensuring necessary equipment is ready for dentists
Assist dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating needs
Take and process X-rays of patients
Process lab work for the dentist
Greet patients as they arrive to appointments
Advise patients on recommended oral hygiene
Update and maintain dental records
Handle general administrative and other duties to maintain the dental clinic
