Randall Residence is Hiring a Senior Accountant Near Kalamazoo, MI
We are a senior living management company with communities in the Great Lakes Region. We are looking for a full-time Staff or Senior Account. Hybrid work is available, prefer candidates in Southwest Michigan.

What You'll Do
- Maintain accurate and complete records related to the general ledger and subledgers and requisite documentation for an audit trail (i.e., invoices, receipts, etc.)
- Take ownership over monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting reconciliations including, but not limited to, cash, accounts receivable, prepaid assets, fixed assets, payroll liabilities, accounts payable, and other liabilities and accruals
- On a monthly basis, manage expense reporting for discretionary employee spend and recurring company spend
- Assist the community Directors in developing annual budgets, financial projections, and data compilation for annual external review / audit
- Ensure accurate calculation of monthly sales force commissions, complete in a timely manner for payroll processing
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses/statements including balance sheet, income statements, bank reconciliations, review of A/P and A/R, journal entries, general ledger.
- Develop into a key liaison with vendors and suppliers to ensure charges are accurate and that disbursements are issued in a timely manner
- Participate in ongoing education opportunities to learn about industry trends and developments, accounting standards updates, and company policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures, as well as state and federal regulations
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns, and certain tax and regulatory filings as required.
- Demonstrate performance aligned with Randall Residence guiding principles: Relationships, Ready, Remarkable.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and at least 3 years' experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of US GAAP
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Yardi
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Versatility and adaptability
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and take initiative with little direction
- Must be trustworthy, analytical and solution-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities, superior follow-up skills, strong time management, a sense of urgency and the ability to shift gears frequently throughout the day
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- CPA Certification
- Public accounting experience
- Experience within an unstructured, entrepreneurial work environment
