Rand Road Animal Hospital, located in Palatine, IL, is seeking full and part-time veterinary assistants. The ideal candidate will care for our pet patients and assist our veterinarians. The veterinary assistant will be a crucial part of our team, supporting our veterinarians and technicians in various areas such as examinations and procedures, laboratory duties, pharmacy duties, and radiology.

At Rand Road Animal Hospital, we support a healthy work/life balance with reasonable hours. Our hospital is open Monday through Thursday, 9A-5P, and Fridays 9A-1P. We are closed on weekends.

Some of the responsibilities that come with this opportunity include:

• Cleaning kennels, cages, examination tables, and rooms, etc.
• Escort clients and patients into the clinic and the exam room.
• Weigh pets and keep accurate records.
• Soothe upset or frightened pets
• Restrain patients during examinations, nail trims, blood draws, and radiology procedures
• Administer medications prescribed by Veterinarians
• Draw up vaccines
