Title: Development Director
Supervisors: Mission Hope Executive Director and RCS President
Classification: Exempt
Description: The Director of Development is responsible to maintain, raise and increase monetary giving for Rancho Christian School and Community Mission of Hope by creating a culture of generosity, implementing best practices with donors,overseeing implementation of a year-round fundraising strategy and creating a sophisticated legacy giving program.
Areas of Expected Proficiencies:
The tasks, duties, and responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to:
Mission Hope
Cultivating donor relationships within the community, including individuals, corporations and businesses
Work with leadership on community-wide donor development
Implement best practices on relationship-driven donor development and stewardship
Work with leadership creating major and mini development campaigns
Work with leadership on generosity communications and media
Lead teams for annual development events including but not limited to the gala and VIP Stakeholders
Consistent data analysis on defining donor capacity
Hit targeted financial goals
Rancho Christian
Cultivating donor relationships with parents, grandparents, alumni,corporations and businesses
Work with administration to develop a culture of generosity
Lead teams for annual development events including but not limited to the gala and golf tournament
Implement best practices on relationship-driven donor development and stewardship
Data analysis to discover donor potential and capacity
Manage the field sign sponsorship program
Work with leadership creating major and mini development campaigns
Work with leadership on generosity communications and media
Consistent data analysis on defining donor capacity
Hit targeted financial goals
Management of the endowment
Other Expectations
Manage budget and expense tracking according to Rancho United Fiscal Policy.
Work closely with the Executive Director, President and CFO
Maintain an office and presence at both locations
Perform other duties as assigned
Spiritual Qualifications:
Demonstrates a passion for Christ and his Kingdom through personal spiritual discipline and public ministry.
Seeks to grow in that relationship with Christ through personal spiritual discipline, education, accountability and service to his Kingdom.
Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college required
Master’s degree and/or desirable
Professional experience in highly successful Donor development
Proven track record
Prior experience in planning and executing communications and marketing support for a comprehensive fundraising campaign.
Successful supervision of a development team and experience in managing high level donors, volunteers and board member
Proficiency in demonstrating effective organizational skills
Self-motivated and goal driven
Ability to build external relationships
detailed and in-depth knowledge of multiple types of charitable giving and its complexities( one- time gifts, capital gifts, annual gifts, planned gifts, estate planning, corporate sponsorships
Successful experience in researching and analyzing data for potential prospects
Cleared live scan background check
