Job Summary A Rampant Technologies Systems Engineer (SE) is a key resource that is a part of the Rampant team reporting to the Principal Engineer overseeing the SE team to deliver innovative Cyber Security and IT solutions that are in alignment with the company’s goals and our customer’s mission. Rampant has a need for a Windows Administrator, and a Linux Administrator. An ideal candidate does not need to possess both skill sets. Key Skills, Education & Experience Education: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline. Five (5) years of additional SysAdmin/Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Required Experience and Skills: • Minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required; ideally two (2 ) years of direct experience in the same level/grade for like role
• Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Well-versed in Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
• Extensive experience installing, configuring, securing, maintaining, and troubleshooting large-scale physical and/or virtual Linux environments
• Strong experience in Windows Server administration
• Knowledgeable in deploying and maintaining VMware vSphere and ESXi hosts
• Infrastructure automation tools such as Puppet or Ansible
• Version control with Git
• Enhanced troubleshooting skills within Linux as well as networking and storage technologies
• Scripting with Bash and Python for Linux, or PowerShell for Windows
• DoD 8570 Compliant, IAT Level II required
• Must be able to effectively balance multiple projects and prioritize work in a fluid environment
• Ability to articulate business and technology needs/constraints to both technical and non-technical project team members and end users alike
• Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with all levels of a contract team
• Strong written communications skills, including the ability to produce clear and concise recommendations, assessments, specifications, and integration/tasking documentation
• Experience working in a matrixed environment
• Self-starter/motivator and having a proactive and strategic mindset are a must
• Interacts with all levels of the company and its customers/partners with patience, courtesy, diplomacy, and professionalism
Desired Experience and Skills: • Managing systems and repositories with Red Hat Satellite or Spacewalk
• IA principles and organizational requirements that are relevant to confidentiality
• SE experience in cloud and containerized environment
• Agile development and delivery experience
• Managing Cisco and/or Juniper networking components
• Hands on experience and proficiency with the full Microsoft Office Suite and tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio
