Tayani Institute is seeking a dynamic, experienced, energetic and knowledgeable full-time Surgery Scheduler / Surgery Coordinator to lead our growing and thriving Ophthalmology/Optometry practice.

Our practice provides a broad array of ophthalmology, optometry, optical, and plastic surgery services. We are a high volume, fast paced practice offering competitive compensation and benefits.

Surgery Scheduler Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Obtains prior authorization on surgical procedures and clinic procedures as required
2. Communicates the financial aspects of the patient's surgical and medical care with the patient. This includes a written explanation of fee schedules provided prior to surgery and documented in the chart
3. Work supportively & professionally with Tayani Institute surgeons and staff, as well as with primary care physician for surgical clearance
4. Works with the doctors in clinic providing in-person patient consultation to schedule surgeries and provide patients with written/verbal explanation of surgery process and requirements
5. Creates and completes surgery charts and provides them to the surgery center within the required time frame
6. Travels between offices
7. Communicates effectively with patients & physicians

Requirements

1. Experience coordinating surgeries at a high level
2. Medical office insurance and obtaining authorizations; Ophthalmology experience preferred, but not required
3. Flexibility - Ability to travel between offices
4. Effective communicator - to patients & physicians
5. EHR experience - at least 1 year - NextGen preferred
6. Great leadership and teamwork skills
