Connecting. Growing together. The Pre-registration services including insurance verification, demographic verification, estimate creation and pre-payment collections.

This position acts as a liaison on matters related to registration processes of the clinical operations. This position is responsible to ensure and monitor expectations and standards, pre-registration, electronic eligibility, and collections to support good revenue cycle practices.

This position is responsible to oversee and direct those Pre-Registration service improvements as they relate to the Revenue Cycle Metrics.

This position is full-time, Monday Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8 : 00am 4 : 30pm in any time zone.

It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.

S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities : Communicates directly with patients and / or families on the phone to complete the registration process by collecting patient demographics, health information, and verifying insurance eligibility / benefits, collecting co-pays and co-insurance Utilizes computer systems to enter access or verify patient data in real time ensuring accuracy and completeness of information Identifies outstanding balances from patient’s previous visits and attempts to collect any amount due Responds to patient and caregivers’ inquiries related to routine and sensitive topics always in a compassionate and respectful manner Generates, reviews and analyzes patient data reports and follows up on issues and inconsistencies as necessary Maintains up-to-date knowledge of specific registration requirements for all areas, including but not limited to : Main Admitting, OP Registration, ED Registration, Maternity, and Rehabilitation units Refers patients to financial assistance and financial counseling What are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group?

Required Qualifications : High School Diploma / GED (or higher) 1 years of customer service experience in a hospital or physician office setting 1 years EMR experience 1 years of healthcare collections experience Ability to work our normal business hours of 8 : 00am 4 : 30pm in any time zone Preferred Qualifications : Experience with Microsoft Office products Experience in a Hospital Patient Registration Department, Physician office or any medical setting Working knowledge of medical terminology Understanding of insurance policies and procedures Experience in insurance reimbursement and financial verification Ability to perform basic mathematics for financial payments Experience in requesting and processing financial payments Telecommuting Requirements : Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable) Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service Soft Skills : Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills *All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.

California, Colorado, Nevada, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Hawaii or Washington Residents Only : The hourly range for California, Colorado, Nevada, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, or Washington residents is $16.

00 to $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
