JOB SUMMARY Rakuten’s Tech Service Division is looking for Research Science students to join the team and to work with members across our global remit. RIT-Boston is calling for individuals who have strong expertise in the fields of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML). As a part of our program, you will get to work with a mentor in a research project in the areas of automatic product catalog generation and augmentation with or without user feedback. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct state-of-the-art research to advance the science and technology of the core components of our services by conducting research on sequence prediction models for NLP, large-scale neural language models, large-scale hierarchical classification models, natural language understanding, and deep learning methods for mining product catalogs Contribute to building large-scale NLP pipeline frameworks for training ML algorithms and deployment of ML models as services for business units to consume, and analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of corresponding deployed algorithms. Develop novel algorithms and corresponding systems, leveraging various AI and ML techniques. Collaborate with researchers and engineers across diverse disciplines, including communicating research plans, progress, and results. Publish your research in top tier NLP and ML conferences and file patents QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
