RAINBOW HOUSE is Hiring a Development Director Near Columbia, MO

This position reports directly to the Executive Director. This position requires a person with the confidence to speak to large and small groups regarding our agency history and our future in the community. Below is a small portion of the responsibilities of the Development Director.

  • Responsible for raising funds to support the overall mission and daily operations.
  • Responsible for the development and cultivation of the donor base for Rainbow House including individuals, businesses and corporations.
  • Responsible for development of an overall development/fundraising plan for the current year and projecting into future years.
  • Continually researches new opportunities to increase donations and relationships.
  • Provides input in the evaluation, quality control and implementation of the annual development plan.
  • Continually research to find and assist in writing grants that are appropriate to the agency mission.
  • Research Foundations/Trusts and writes funding request letters.
  • Collaborates with the Executive Director to write and submit funding requests to Civic groups and Service Clubs.
  • Works directly with the Executive Director and the marketing team to assist with development and promotion of all social media postings.

Fundraising and Special Events

  • Participates in the planning of fundraising events, develops event budgets and solicits for sponsorships.
  • Works collaboratively with the Executive Director and volunteers in soliciting and facilitating fund raising events sponsored by outside organizations.
  • Collaborates with the Executive Director and the marketing team in writing and producing promotional and informational materials.
  • Works directly with the Executive Director in arranging speaking engagements at events and meetings of other community organizations, service clubs, churches, schools, etc.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining donor information and donor lists.
  • Educates the community and potential donors of the availability of tax credits.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other related field with emphasis in development and/or marketing; two years' experience in the field of not-for-profit agency development. Candidates who have worked in the field in an apprenticeship role or who have acquired the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the above-stated duties and responsibilities and who have worked in a not-for-profit agency for two years will be equally considered.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
