They ensure Railserve policies and procedures are implemented and effectively executed at sites. They work with site leaders to create development opportunities for our teams to allow us to grow. They provide guidance on best practices and they strengthen stakeholder relationships through understanding of customer businesses and the clearing of road blocks to success. I.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and model a Safety First Culture by maintaining a safe working environment. Work with Site Leaders to ensure all employees understand and embrace safety and compliance rules . Ensure hazardous conditions are corrected promptly and works toward eliminating employee injuries. Enforce industrial hygiene and environmental policies and programs. Establish annual goals for sites based on Railserve and customer corporate goals. Implement goals and objectives to the site level, monitor and provide feedback on performance and success towards targets Manage resources to budget; strategically review staffing and resources to customer needs and make recommendations to Director, CAD operations for appropriate organization, staff competency, procurement, fleet and asset changes Apply critical thinking skills to identify safety, productivity, and attrition trends across the site and region and put in place appropriate procedures, policies or actions to address. Establish mitigation plans for most likely scenarios with respect to facility,fleet and resources; evaluate execution and make changes as necessary. Conduct “What’s the worst that can happen” exercises and develop response plans to address; establish drills as necessary to check to compliance. Encourage team members to provide ideas for continuous improvement and use data to drive change and measure impact. Actively support improvement projects and events (LEAN) and drive collaboration between sites to encourage best practice sharing. Hold frequent performance and development discussions, identify areas for growth, assign accountability of development and goals to employees, and reinforce desired behaviors Work with site leaders to establish strategic plans for each site, review plans with customer to ensure they meet objectives and follow up regularly to ensure plans are relevant and executed Maintains a positive relationship with the customer by reviewing performance trends at customer sites; hold meetings with site and customer to identify opportunities, create action plans and integrate. Understand on-site skills levels and work with Site Leaders to ensure appropriate competency mix, training and development opportunities Fully understand Marmon Onsite offerings. Identify and recommend new services or assets as required to best serve customers and continued growth Innovation Continuously identify and implement opportunities to increase customer efficiency, productivity and safety Identify product/technology enhancements to further increase safety systems Work with other site leaders and industry leaders to foster relationships and bring best practices in house OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Travel within Alberta, SK and ON. Expect 25% overnight travel. Weekend and nights required 20% of time. II. QUALIFICATIONS The qualifications listed below represent the credentials necessary to perform the essential duties of this position. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software applications Proven track record of positive safety performance; ability to meet customer safety requirements High School diploma or GED equivalent Willing to work overtime and/or nights, weekends, holidays as needed Preferred: Experience in industrial setting, loading hazardous chemicals Experience in switching yard College or University degree in Business or Engineering B. Knowledge Expert knowledge of switching, transloading and/or material handling C. Skills Demonstrated ability to create a safe culture and dedicated safety mindset Demonstrated customer experience engineering & relationship management Demonstrated experience providing process optimization by understanding the desired business outcomes Demonstrated experience creating a culture of continuous improvement and generating innovation Demonstrated change management skills Demonstrated leadership skills to establish and maintain effective team culture in line with Railserve values Demonstrated experience in setting goals and planning to execution Demonstrated experience in developing teams and succession planning Ability to translate goals to team and individual level, with the right follow up for action Basic budgeting and financial understanding, cost/benefit analysis, basic understanding of procurement Intermediate Microsoft (Word, Excel) knowledge; effective presentation skills Intermediate data and analytical skills to collect and interpret data to drive actions Intermediate project management skills D.
